Age Requirement
All women must be 25 years or older to apply for membership with Delta Rho Sorority, Inc.

Exceptions to Age Requirement

  1. Exceptions will be made for applicants who are between the ages of 22 – 24 who have displayed extraordinary academic, personal and/or community achievements.
  2. Applicants ages 22 – 24 will only be considered for membership if they have completed and/or possess at least three of the following:
    •Master’s degree or higher
    •Performance of a leading or critical role in a distinguished professional or community organization
    •Membership in associations which demand outstanding achievement of their members
    •Recipient of major prizes or awards for outstanding achievement
    •Published material about the applicant in professional or other major media
    •A minimum of 10 community service hours completed in an area related to the Sorority philanthropies within 6 months of applying for membership

Application Process
All prospective members must provide the Grand Chapter with a completed membership packet which includes the following:

•Completed Membership application and application fee.

•Personal statement/letter of interest stating why you would like to join Delta Rho Sorority, Inc.

•2 (two) letters of recommendation. One must be from a community leader, church official or any professional. Recommendations must be on official letterhead from the organization/company the person represents. The other recommendation must be from someone who has known you for 6 months or more and who knows of your community and/or professional achievements.

•All prospective members must be a member of at least 1 (one) other prestigious community or professional organization. (Ex, Black Women of Essence, Inc., The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People aka NAACP). Verifiable documentation is required. (ex. Welcome letter, membership card or membership list)

•A recent photograph (4 x 6 minimum sized photo)

Professionalism
Each prospective member must understand and believe in the mission of Delta Rho Sorority, Inc. and pledge to professionally represent Delta Rho Sorority, Inc.

Sisterhood and Diversity
Since Delta Rho Sorority is based upon Sisterhood, the ability to get along with others and to enjoy being with people of diverse personalities is a necessary quality.

Service
Delta Rho Sorority, Inc. promotes community involvement and community enhancement through unity and professionalism. We have adopted philanthropies that raise awareness for various children issues. Prospective members must be willing to assist in reaching philanthropic goals.

Financial Responsibility
Joining Delta Rho Sorority, Inc. will present a wonderful opportunity to enrich your life, but it is important to realize that you are joining an organization that needs funding to be able to continue serving its members and community.

As a member you will make payments that will go toward national events, chapter activities, social functions, participation in philanthropic events, and other miscellaneous expenses that the sorority needs to pay. As a member of the sorority you will be contributing to the success of the organization. Prospective members are required to accept these financial obligations
